Technology

HYAC Press-In Caisson Technology provides variety of construction applications.

● Bridge Foundations

Caisson is a particularly reliable foundation structure, and it is especially suitable to support road and railway bridges. Excavation can penetrate into load-bearing stratum such as hard sand and gravel. Water sealing wall can be pressed in simultaneously with the caisson in river and other wet construction sites.

● Vertical Shaft Construction

The depth of newly planed shield tunnels projects in urban cities has greatly increased to avoid subway lines, sewage tunnels and other existing underground structures. Press-in Caisson method has safety and cost advantage over other construction methods in constructing deep and large diameter vertical shafts, because most of the construction activities can be done on the ground level.

● River improvement work

By press-in block type caisson into river bed, river’s cross-section can be increased to control flood, without altering existing embankment. Construction can continue without temporarily altering stream flow and river’s cross-section stays constant through out construction period. It is an effective flood control method for medium and small sized river. Adjacent building and house will be safe, and not be effected by the construction.

● Building Foundation, Basement Construction

Most effective use of underground space is often requested by building owners in urbanized area where land price is expensive. HYAC Press-In method enable construction of basements adjoining other building and structures.

● Heavy Lowering Work

In limited construction space where large crane cannot safely set, heavy structures such as bridge girders and caisson foundation can be lowered into position by using hydraulic jack with shuttle system attachment.
